I am new here (but longtime lurker)! We have a 15 month old who has been co-sleeping with us since she was born. Even though she co-sleeps with us, she has never slept through the night and wakes up on average about 6-8 times a night crying and wanting to be held. We have a great consistent bedtime routine, she eats well, the room is dark, she's healthy, we've taken her to an allergist, gastroenterologist and they all have given her a clean bill of health. ( I've always convinced myself it was "something else" that prevented her from sleeping)
Does anyone have any experiences they can share with a younger toddler? I am preparing for the worst because she is a very spirited kid and can cry really hard over not getting her way so sometimes it's hard for me to tell if it's a panic cry. She is also not attached to any lovey and needs to rub our ears or have her foot on our body to feel secure. Hubby and I are really nervous but know this needs to be done because I am beyond exhausted. I would love to have another baby but know I can't if this sleep pattern continues. I am just dreading doing this (this is our third attempt) but i feel like I have to stick to my guns this time. Any encouraging advice is much needed. Sorry for the long post. Thank you in advance!
