Have you eaten your Placenta?

Hey Ladies,

I am just wondering if you have consumed your placenta in any way (either cooked or in pill form).

My husband and I are expecting again, and I have come across some thing about the benefits of consuming the placenta.

Is this something you have done?

If it is, how did you wrap your mind around eating something that was inside of your body?

How did you eat it (stir-fry, ect)?

Did you have a lot of negative feed-back from family?

Do you know how to get it in capsule form? Do you contact a pharmacy?

Thanks for the advice in advance!

The first time I heard about that custom was here on CoM a year or so ago. Um, defiantely NOT for me! I do understand that this ritual plays into a lot of cultures & traditions. But IMO, it's pretty gross and disgusting! I'll pass on it and congrats to those woh do eat it!

haha that is just plain crazy to me! Just eat healthy you don't need to eat a huge nasty slimy thing that came out of you to be healthy. I have heard of this and I never understood it... good luck lol

No I have not eaten any of my placentas.

It makes sense but I'm sure I could have found decent substitutes for the nutritional value without the gross factor.

If I had eaten it, the best way would have been capsule form.

Yes there would have been HUGE negative feedback from family, namely my mother.

If you google it, you'll figure out how to get it into capsule form, I seriously doubt there are any american pharmacies (maybe a private one) that would handle human by product/organ etc.
