Have you experienced Work-Place Discrimination related to pregnancy?

Dear Circle of Moms:

I was harassed by a woman supervisor (single, nearly fifty, no children) for my decision to be pregnant. She lost confidence in my abilities and treated me as though I was incompetent once I became visibly pregnant. She was also joined by a co-worker who is in my age group (this co-worker although the parent of one child expressed disdain regarding having another). Long story short, I was ganged up on by a group of girls (disguised as grown women) and then fired. I am three classes shy of finishing my Masters. And I am trying to get past this, but it is difficult and if you've survived the aforementioned or, found ways to get past it, your advice would be helpful. I don't believe that a job or an employer should infringe upon one's reproductive rights, but I was told that this is the norm. And I am seeking to change it, so that my daughter doesn't have to go through the same thing.

What you are stating is actually illegal. If you have proof of the discrimination, and nothing on your employee record that would indicate poor productivity, I would personally be contacting a lawyer. It is NOT the norm. Even if you go into an interview at 8 months preggo, they cannot discriminate against you. This is NOT the norm that you have dealt with.
