Have you watched the documentary film "The Bully"

I just watch "The Bully Effect" on Anderson Cooper. I was shocked and in tears to see how kids interact with each other when adults are not watching. And at the high number of bystanders that do nothing. And the fact that suicide is the ultimate side effect. My husband requested the movie on Netflix, I'm wondering if any of you watched it and if so, with your family or freinds?

I did not see that on AC. There was a movie in theaters awhile back called The Bully or Bullying, but our local theater never showed it. I think it is finally out on DVD. I don't want to say It looked really "good," because it's not a happy movie. But we are looking forward to watching it. I'm pretty sure it was a true story. My daughter and I are going to rent it when basketball season is over. She doesn't have much time between two sports, school and homework right now. I am thinking about asking her to invite some friends over to watch it with us. Fortunately, bullying hasn't really been an issue yet, but high school is just around the corner and I have no idea what to expect.

Did the movie you watched have anything about how kids can stand up to bullies? Like what bystanders should say or do, especially if they are not on school property but at a "teen hang out?" How about what makes someone an easy target for a bully and things parents should be doing at home? For instance, are there things we can do for or help our child with, to potentially prevent becoming a target? (besides buying them the fanciest, fastest car on the road, the latest in technology and the most expensive clothes)
