Having a baby at 40 is isolating.

Had my baby girl when I was 40. I have an older son who is 10 and my daughter who is now 13 mos.

I worked full time up until I had her. Now that I'm not working I feel totally disconnected from the outside world. My husband's work hours are very demanding, so at times I feel like a single parent.

I do set aside 1hr 15mins a day for exercising. Someone suggested joining a Mommy and Me class to meet other moms but I wonder if I'll be the old mom of the group?

Anyone in a similar situation?

Having a baby at any age can be isolating if you let it. I have two kids and my close friends all live over an hour away from me. I still work full time but I don't consider that socializing. Definitely join a mommy group, who cares of your the oldest you still may meet some really great women and your daughter will get a chance to be around other kids. You can also look into your local library and see of they have any programs.
