My son likes to sit on the toilet stool in the bathroom, but he doesn't like to say potty. He will pee in the toilet but not the other. Can anyone give me some tips on potty training?

Time and patience. Boys especially may wait until 3 or 3 1/2 to train. My son showed an interest at 2, but he resisted training. I let it go and at 3.5 years he trained urine/stool day and night in just a few days. Pushing the issue with his bowels can lead to holding his stool and cause him to struggle with constipation. Time and patience, and lots of praise and encouragement.

I agree, just be patient, it will happen. We used to put fruit loops in the toilet and have our son try to get the "targets" or "sink the cereal" with his pee. It made it fun for him. As far as going poop in the toilet that will take time. No need to rush.

At this age, trying to potty train for most kids is not a good idea. Their bodies have not developed enough to actually go to the bathroom like older kids and adults. Those organs and muscles that control that are still developing. Some kids do train at this age but most do not. My son did not start getting interested in the potty until he was about 3ish. We bought a potty chair but he would have nothing to do with it. We ended up having to buy a toilet ring for kids to sit on so he would sit on the toilet. It worked! Also he was very tall for his age so he could learn to stand and pee into the toilet anyhow and that is what we did though I encouraged him to sit on his ring every time. It took a good 9 months to get him to the point he would use the potty totally.
