I wanted to post to ask to see if other mothers have ever had this problem.. i had my baby August 2012 and since then at random I will get a bad stomachache and immediately have to go to the bathroom. (Sorry if to much information.) This started a couple months after my baby was born, I don't know if i formed IBS because sometimes that is what it seems like. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem after having a baby?

Well...how's your fiber intake? You could just be having some acute gastric distress, or your body could be telling you it wants more fiber.

Your doctor can check for IBS, it took a blood draw for me, but it was quick. I added some fiber, and cut out a few things that I noticed triggered the 'attacks', and have been doing well.

But, that in relation to having the baby...I don't know if that would be a connection or a coincidence...Good luck finding out, though. Stomach discomfort is a pain (literally) and definitely difficult to handle if you still have a little one on your hands...

I have been to several doctors with my stomache,i get the exact same thing, sharp colic pains and need the bathroom. The docs arent sure if its because i had my gallbladder removed.I once had salmonella but that was treated. The only thing that has helped me is a herbal tablet i take everyday. Its called Hepa-S its with artichokes etc and helps digesting food.Since taking it the colics dont come so often. But i know what a pain it is..it gets so bad by me that i have to take Librax (its like a valium for the stomache)and calms me down.Since having those cramps on an airoplane with a loooong flight i am to scared to fly! Hope the docs can help you!Good luck

I don't exactly know how much fiber I take, and I could try to keep in eye out for that and add more or take fiber pills to see if that helps.
I wasn't sure if it would have anything to have in relation to having a baby just this problem seems to have started after having him.
But I know when the problem hits me, it is definitely completely at random no warning at all and I immediately have to make it to the bathroom. You're right, having the stomach issues is terrible especially as he is trying to run around and play. I have to keep him content in his play pen close by when it happens.
