Im having trouble being away from my 7months son. This is the first day of work and also the first time i've been away from him a long hour...we just migrated and im still coping up with the people surround me and with the new duties in work. All the time i was in the office my mind is with my son.I worry to much eventhough i know his grandma will very took care of him.now how i wish i dont need to go to work.how will i get rid the feelings of being guilty not to be there...its driving me crazy..how i wish i would be there always.

It does take awhile to get used to. For financial reasons I started back at work part time when my son was 6mo, and it was very hard to leave him, but it does get easier, I promise! I felt exactly the same way too. My son is now almost two and I still work part time, and the best part of my day is when I pick my son up from daycare, and he sees me and his whole face lights up and he comes running over yelling 'mummy!' with a big grin on his face.

It took me about 2 months before I didn't feel like a complete scatter brain at work! I would be doing something and then start about 5 other things never actually getting anything complete. I was never on time even though I was giving myself 3 hours to get up and out of the house. It does get better but it's going to be awhile so allow yourself time to adjust, and try not to feel guilty because you are helping contribute to the household. Also make sure you share household responsibilities with your husband so you both get quality time with your little one!
