36 weeks isn't full term; how about wait, take care of yourself, and not try to induce yourself until 40 weeks? Risk of complications is higher with every week earlier than 40, most especially at 36 weeks being feeding and breathing complications. Even if most infants are ok at that gestation, some are not.

Honestly, you could still be a while yet. I went into labor at 36 1/2 weeks and dilated to 3 cm, but since I didn't make it to 4 cm, the hospital sent me home. I continued to have strong fairly frequent contractions for the next 2-3 days but my cervix was completely closed at my next doctor's appointment. I had less frequent contractions (every 30 minutes or so) until my son was born 10 days after the hospital visit (38 weeks exactly). Yes, it was uncomfortable but I am glad that his respiratory system was fully developed when he was born--36/37 weeks can still be a bit early for the respiratory system.

Also did you do any walking or sex before last night's incident? I am fairly certain that the first labor was jump-started by sex but he wasn't ready for the big world yet! Just relax and make sure your doctor knows what is going on. At this point, every day spent in your uterus just makes his/her systems more ready for life outside your womb.

I was in that situation before...I went to the hospital because of having contractions and my water broke...They sent me home. .I didn't have my son until 2 days after that.

Walking, eating spicy food, and drinking raspberry tea along with sex. But, if your body is not actually ready, nothing will start the contractions. Contact your doctor and let them know what has been going on.

try to relax and pamper yourself-eat well and drink a lot of water- because if labor starts soon, you'll need the energy. Relaxing, and maybe watching a really funny movie or comedian, can help your body and it's muscles to relax enough to make those 'fake' contractions more productive.
