hey everyone!!

I'm Steff, and I'm here in the beautiful Alberta countryside...still getting used to having space after 30 years born & raised in the UK. All our family are there still, it's just me (aged 40), my hubby David, our daughter Rhiannon (5, going on 16), and Ethan, 3, who's a "big boy now", according to him!

I'm looking forward to making some new mummy friends!

Nice!! We drove through Rocky Mountain House before, and along Davey Thompson on a scenic trip back from Banff once, can't get enough of the mountains. The kids must love all that space to play in!!

Hi Steff. We live in Rocky Mountain House, Just north of Red Deer. This winter was AWFUL!! We have a 7 acre peice of land and it joins my MIL's farm, which is great 'cause the kids have lots of room to play.

Hi Pat, thanks for the welcome!! I LOVE the space...we've gone from a tiny damp cold tiny terraced house to an acreage with 3 acres of land and deer who eat our grass!!!
We came to Canada when my hubby David (he's english too) was offered an engineering job here. We figured we would give it 3 years and then decide whether to stay or not...that was nine years ago..now we have a mortgage, 2 kids & 2 cats!!
This past winter was brutal!!! We had over twice the normal amount of snow, and really cold temperatures, even diehard Canadians were complaining. We only found our grass again two weeks ago, after 6 months of snow. In some ways though it always feels colder in England though, I guess its the damp and the old stone houses , lol!!

Hello How do you like your new space? I know what it's like with everyone living somewhere else. My hubbie and I moved from Illinois (central U.S.) to Florida in 2007. We were sick of the cold nasty weather. I miss my family and children but I LOVE Florida!! I had 3 children then married a man with 4 and have 14 grandchildren. So what's the difference in the weather from the UK to Alberta and what made you do the move? Welcome to circle of moms!! Pat
