My 3 month old (who will be 4 months in 2 weeks) is still waking up at night for a bottle at 1 am, 4 am, and 6 am. He is a fairly big eater, but I have even started giving him cereal during the day to make sure he's well feed.

Lastly, in between feedings, he sleeps restless around 4 am tossing and turning to search for a pacifer (that he keeps spitting out.) Does anyone have any solutions because I would like to get rest at night....again...eventually. My first son didnt do this....

He sounds perfectly normal to me. Some babies do sleep better w/ solids, some sleep worse, and for some it makes no difference either way. A 3.5 month old baby does not need solids yet.

Some kids sleep well and others don't.

I would try giving him the cereal at dinner time instead of during the day. My daughter (at the time 2-3 months) was getting a serving of cereal 2 hours before going to bed. She slept longer since she was full.

It is certainly ok to offer him cereal at 3-4 months. 2 of my boys were eating cereal at 4 months. Once we started cereal before bed, they went from sleeping for 2-3 hours to about 5-6 hours, meaning more sleep for mommy!! We usually did about 2-3oz of cereal then some breast milk. My 2nd son didn't eat cereal until he was almost a year old because he had some belly issues. If your baby is already eating it during the day without any problems, he'll be ok to have a serving right before bed. This might help him sleep longer, it might not. If not, maybe Dad can take care of one of the night time feedings so you can get some sleep.

The "suggested" timeline for offering new foods to babies is just that...a suggestion. Every baby is different so there reaction to different foods at different times will be different.

That sounds very normal to me. He's still a baby, he needs to eat often. Actually, that's sleeping more than my second son did at that age.

DON"T add cereal yet, he's far too young! This can have digestive problems and make it harder for him to sleep. It is not suggested until closer to 6 months, and then never, ever added to a bottle (choking risk), but use a spoon when you start solids.

Is he still taking 4 oz at a time or 8 oz at a time? Also, try adding cereal at his last feeding before bed.
