Hello there! I am a mom to a beautiful 5 yr old daughter who has always seemed to have OCD tendencies, starting as a toddler. She now has started pulling her eyelashes out about 5 months ago. Tonight she pulled out all of them, no exaggerating, they are all gone and she is bald around the eyes. I just about lost it, as I don't know how to help her. I've tried talking to her and explaining to her that she needs her eyelashes. Struggiling with dealing with this, I've looked at her other behaviors. She has also started saying goodbye a repeated amount of times when she or another is leaving. She also has a tough time when objects don't line up or "fit" right, she is particular about her clothing and will critique the way her food has been prepared.
I am afraid my bad reaction to her pulling her eyelashes has made her do it more. I am so frustrated with her and am sad for her.
Watching her struggle with this breaks my heart. I will be seeking a child therapist tomorrow. Is there other moms out there that may have some advice, or experiences to share? Thank you!
