Give him some vitamin C he will be fine. We have a child care and babies can be sick for far longer than 11 days with no fever. They are building up immunities. If he gets worse call the doc.

when you say he has had a cold...I wonder what his symptoms are. I am curious if he is getting his 2year molars...this can cause red cheeks ..diaper rash..runny nose ...drool...amongst other things

Personally, I wouldn't go to a doc. if there's no fever. They can't really do much for a cold anyway. I would give lots of extra vitamin C, It always works for me, but it takes a larger dose when sick than what you would use otherwise. You can get chewable or gummy Cs, my daughter loves them. I would start with about 1000mg. every few hours, it sounds like a lot for a little one but it gets used up fast fighting a bug, and it's impossible to overdose on it. If you manage to give more than the body can use (unlikely during illness) the rest will be lost in the urine. Hope he feels better soon! Let us know. :)

Are you sure he has not got hayfever as tree pollen is coming into season now. Try giving him some Piriton and see if this dries up his nose and makes the symptoms go away. My daughter first reacted to hayfever last year and I thought it was just a cold that would not go away. If symptoms still persist and it is not his teeth then take him to the gp and see what he says. Poor thing bless!

That's a pretty long time... i don't think you'll be wasting the docs time, if it will ease your mind and just to make sure. But if you really don't want to go, just make sure he gets a lot of fluids and rest. Try not to let him run around too much. (I know that's hard i have a two year old daughter LOL)

Hi Jen,
Please take him to the doctor. If it is nothing major, no one has ever died from embarrassment. It will put your mind at ease too. I would go tomorrow. Im not a Dr. but it just seems like the right thing to do to me. Good luck{:+)

If he has had a fever for this long I would take him to the doctor but if has just been a cough or a runny nose I wouldn't worry too much, those can last for a long time. If he seems to be feeling pretty normal, there is probably no need to worry but if he is lethargic or acting like there is something wrong have him checked out. Trust your mommy instincts most of all.
