Please don't further dilute formula for any reason, it can lead to serious health complications in your baby. Formula should be mixed according to the instructions on the can ONLY. If she's taking solids, a few tsps of pureed prunes will help. If it persists, ask you doc for further guidance.

Are you still nursing? If it's an emergency and the stores are closed, I'd mix a little more water in than it says for the next few feedings until you can get in to buy some low-iron formula. If you're still nursing her, personally I would keep going with that because then you don't have to worry about constipation. Everybody says it's healthier, and I would have loved to do that except my son was not gaining weight.

When you have the new tin of low-iron formula, wait until it's almost half-empty and put a bit of the formula you use now in there and shake it up so that you're not wasting a $25 tin, but it still won't be enough to hurt your daughter. Anyway, that's what I did.

How old is she? If she's eating already maybe some pear puree will help her.

When my son went onto formula (it was similac, but I think they're all pretty much the same) he had trouble with constipation, too. I realized it was the added iron that was doing it. There is a low-iron version of the same formula, so I went to that and he had an easier time. (although it was always a concern... after he started solids it was much easier because all he needed was a prune or some raisins and he'd go)

It's a common problem with formula, unfortunately. :(
