The mirena doesn't stop periods for everyone. With all the birth control I happen to be the 10-20% that bleeds continuously, that was my main reason for not getting it.
I've recently had an ablation done and am still getting my period. It's not as heavy or lasting as long (used to be 2 weeks and super heavy and painful) but I'm still getting it. About 90% of women it will stop their periods for about 5 years! I just love being in the minority.

Iam a saftey girl, 100% condom girl .. But my periods with my blood thinners that im on for life make my periods heavier and longer. Normal cycle 3-4 days / thinners 14 days .. So im stuck !! I was given the depo got pregnate like i bled for 65 days straight and abt a week after stoping my cycle i got preggars! Got a clot n lost my son!!
