I agree with Michelle, check the WAH boards. Most of them are independent businesses--you own your own little business, and they do nothing but sell you products to sell to others. The are sales based, and would be hard to do from bed completely. They also usually require a "start up fee" that does not go toward anything beneficial. You are better off creating your own business from scratch.
There are lots of things you can do from home. You can knit or crochet things to sell on Etsy and similar websites--this would require less than $50 to start up. If you don't know how to knit or crochet, just look online, there are tons of how to videos and tutorials.
If you like to write, you can build a portfolio and do freelance writing jobs. There are boards where you can post ads for yourself and where people who need writers can post jobs. I have a friend who supports herself almost entirely by writing product descriptions, direction manuals, and "how to" articles. Each job pays VERY little, but over time, she built up templates, so she can write entire pieces in 5 to 20 minutes by just filling in blanks in her templates. Some magazines also pay freelance writers for articles. You can look at their websites for information on submissions.
That said, any job you start from home will probably not start paying you before your husband has another job....but at least you will have a back up going so, he can take temp jobs until he gets something in his field again, and you will have an income for the small stretches in between jobs.

Go and ask this in the work from home communities, we don't allow solicitations here and a question like this just encourages them.
Mind you, if he's at home then you can work outside the home and get a better job.
