@Ana- You can get more answers if you post your question in a separate thread rather than tack in on to an open discussion.
That is a hard question to answer. He does not make much and you will need to file for a child support order. The court will award your child a percentage of his wages and you can request the money be directly taken from his check and sent to you. In the meantime go to the Department of Human Services and apply for assistance. If you live in the US, you can get WIC coupons for sure. If you have little income, you will probably qualify for welfare, medicaid, food stamps and housing assistance.

That is no problem whatsoever. Your baby is perfect!!! Children achieve milestones at all different ages. The worse thing you could do is look for a label. If your child is still not walking at 16 months (adjusted age), then take her to a specialist who deals in those issues. My daughters walked at about 12 months, but I have heard of cases of children walking much later.

Here is an article by a famous pediatrician that may help you.

Dove is right, you need to go from her adjusted age for milestones. So if she was ten weeks early, at the very best she'd be doing 9 month old milestones. Just starting to sit, reach for a toy...not crawling or walking or even pulling up.

What does her doctor say? By her adjusted age she 'should' be developmentally around the stage of a 9-10 month old... so it does sound like there is a bit of a delay, but probably not enough to be overly concerned at this point.

CAN walk? Or can't walk? It is quite normal for even a term baby to not yet be walking at 12 months. 'Normal' (in quotes because some kids w/ no developmental issues still far outside this range) range for first steps in a full term child is 9-18 months.

My kids all took their first steps at 9-10.5 months. I wasn't walking til 18 months (I did have delays and medical issues as well).
