I have been married for 3 years now and my son will be 2 in dec. I have been verbally abused for the whole time of being together. Now my son I'm afraid is following in his father's footsteps. I have been waiting for 1 year to leave my husband, but don't know what to do when he threatens me or family members when I try to get him to leave.. Please help me. I'm scared for my son and my well being..

I am sorry you are in a marriage where you don't feel safe.
The safety for you and your son is so important. Please go where you
can feel safe. Report this to the authorities and get them involved. Get your entire
family involved so you don't feel like you have to do this by yourself.

This is the time that you put you and your son first for your well being.

Threatens your family members, how? Clearly you have family, so you pack up and you go to them. If he threatens and you have evidence of those threats, you go to the police and report it then file for a restraining order. If he tries to carry through with any of those threats, you have him arrested.

The next thing you do is you get yourself a lawyer and you file for custody and visitation orders as well as child support.
