My son's father ans stepmother were tragically killed in a car accident July 30th 2015 by two girls that hit them because they were racing. This has by far been the worst nightmare I've ever encountered. I'm an emotional wreckoned behind closed doors and my son has horrible meltdowns at night and becomes mean, hitting, crying, defiant etc it's horrible. He's only 6, I can't take much more. I am at my breaking point :'( HELP I just want my sweet happy baby back!

He's probably acting out at home because you are his safe zone. That's fairly normal. My son hasn't gone through anything as tragic as the death of a parent, but he used to throw some wicked tantrums when he was younger.... and he only ever did it w/ me.

Keep firm consequences for the behaviors (like hitting), but be patient w/ the crying and stuff. Keep up w/ the counseling and give him time.

No, I haven't really asked him about the outbursts. I've talked to him and we are seeing a therapist but he only has these at home

Have you sat down a talked to him about and why he's angry(I know his dad and step mom gone). But let him vent, try talking to a therapist, I will pray for you and your son things will get better. Don't give up on yourself I know your doing evrything you can
