My baby was born 1-6-14 7 weeks early so she went strait to the nicu the first week she was given breast milk through a tube and a pacifier (without my permission) to occupy her, the second week I got to try to breast feed her but her mouth was so small so she had a hard time latching so they recommended a nipple shield I was against it but they said this is the only thing that will work it's what's best blah blah so we ended up using it and when I asked about weaning they said when that time came around she would be out of the hospital ( in other words it wasn't there problem) we went home after 3 weeks of being in the nicu and continued to use the shield I had to start pumping afterwords because she would still be hungry after feeding her for 30-45 minutes I went to a lactation consultant to get help weaning her because I know her mouth is big enough she just wants nothing to do with me all she told me was to practice but I've been doing that for a couple months now and it's not working and nobody will help me I've tried all different positions and when she's sleepy or super hungry or after pumping a couple minutes or when my milk is literally dripping in her mouth I've tried baths with her skin to skin with her and nothing is working I'm so tired of the The hassle please help

To me it sounds like a case of what I call nipple confusion. Too many different feeding styles used early on.(shield, tube, pacifier, and breast) I have eight kids and my first went through the same problem asyou. The only thing that worked for me was being patient and sticking to only one feeding method. Eventually she will catch on. Also watch your latch. Im sure you have been instructed on that. And the one thing i have learned is to relax while feeding. Babies pick up on our stress. So try to remain calm during feedings. Hope this helps!
