I am currently 36 weeks pregnant... And cannot think of a name for my daughter. My DH isn't good with naming, so left it all up to me(of course he still wants to hear the name and has to like it before its her name). Our son is 21mths and we named him Peyton. We loved how its not a common name, and would also like the same for our daughter. However we also want the 2 names to sound nice together. We already know that our daughters middle name will have to be Margaret, as per tradition. Ideally we would love a 6 letter name, as all 3 of us have 6 letter names, however shorter or longer names are not deal breakers. I would love some suggestions. Some names we were tossing around were : Ariana(however we found that this has become an incredibly popular name for 2012/2013 baby girls) and the name Sutton (I personally love this name but so many people say its ugly, not that it's up to others, but I'd hate to give my daughter am ugly name:( ) Please help:(

It just seems a hard task to fill. Patterns of number of letters and such is fine and using a middle name that has been passed on is fine but you have to remember that the children of today get any names that sound weird or are spelled weird will get picked on. But it seems like a standard that has been set in stone and then you guys set the other one by wanting six letters in the first name and that just seems like a lot of stress and worry to me.

Margaret is a middle name passed down for 5 generations to the first born daughter. My middle name is Margaret, I'm not entirely a fan of it, but I also cannot bring myself to being the person who broke the tradition. And 6 letters would just be an ideal name. My name is teshia(6 letters), DH is daniel(6 letters), and our son is Peyton(6 letters). I kinda like when families name children with a pattern, but we do not like any girl P names, so we thought maybe a 6 letter name, which many names have different spelling so doing this wouldn't be terribly hard. We just don't like common names, or stripper sounding names(Tiffany, Serenity, Felicia, etc- no offence to anyone who uses those names we personally just don't like them.) and I'm open to any suggestions, cause we just can't think of any names.

So you are set on Margaret as the middle name as per tradition? Whose tradition is this and does it have to be the middle name? And why six letter names? To me that is setting up for an almost impossible chore in choosing a name. I am just asking.

You could go with Mary, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Rose, Abagail, Alex, Alissa, Ashton, Bianca, Danielle, Emily, Savannah, Victoria, Wendy, and Zoe.

As for Sutton, that is truly a boys name at best.

I went through a place that has 20000 names and you can type it in the address box and it will show up in the list. Good luck in naming your baby but take the stress out of it by not up holding to certain standards such as six letters in each name. As you can see most of the ones I though sounded good have less than six or more than six.

I agree, Sutton for a girl is terrible. Don't worry so much about the boys and the girls name sounding perfect together.

Names I like for a girl

Evelyn
Sophia
Ophelia
Cecelia
Vanessa
