My daughter is going to be 4 next month and we have just found out she has a mild form of club foot. When she was born her foot used to be able to flip up and be flat on her leg. I spoke to my midwife bout this and plunket, but i was told she would grow out of it. Then as she started to walk her foot twisted out but no longer fliped up, once again i was told she would gbrow out of it and it would sort itself out. Now her foot has started to curl in and she walks on the side of it. Specalist has told us it is deffinatly club foot, And was horrified that no one did anything about it sooner. Now we are waiting to here if they can fix it with minor surgery which they can do at a town that is 4 hours away from us or complex surgery which we will have to travel 8 hours away for. Has anyone experienced this kind of thing? Or has any information about it

My oldest daughter had an even milder case of this, and because it wasn't severe we started off right away doing some physical therapy excersises for her foot, and by the time she was old enough to be walking it was fine. It sounds like surgery is the route for you to go since she is having problems with it now that she is walking. Good luck, and hopefully this can be corrected soon!

Thanks Paula, I wish somone had mentioned that thats what it could have been when she was younger and we first inqured about it. Thn we could have done more to get it fixed then and not have to put her thru a surgery now
