Help do any of your kids fide clean clothes in their rooms?

Okay, well, if she is 9, she knows better. My daughter is 7, and she went through a stage where she just wouldn't put her clothes away properly, so I made it clear to her I was not buying any more clothes for her until she could show me she could look after the ones she has. She is very good at putting them away properly now, and was recently rewarded with a new dress :)

Have you asked her why she's doing this? When I was about 6, I hid my best shorts and shirt and then forgot about them until we found them tucked inside the headboard a year later. My mom was not pleased. The reason I did it was because we would often go to my cousin's house and then when it was time to leave we'd beg for a sleepover. My parents' reason for saying no was always that we had no clean clothes for the next day, so my plan was to bring the clothes along next time and then when they said it, triumphantly bring out the spare clothes. Of course, being six, it all flew out of my head and I didn't remember what I had done until we found the clothes, even after helping my mom search the house for the missing shorts. Ask her what her reasons are, or send in an older sibling or dad if you think she might be intimidated if you ask her.
