We have his year check up Tuesday so I guess I will have to discuss with the doctor what he thinks is best. He is eating good, but not as often he is picky so we have to slowly work with him! To me he isn't eating enough solids to quite swotch him to regular milk yet!

Congratulations on your first. Changing to regular milk is done at 12 months....then it is usually whole milk unless your doc says otherwise. Up to 12 months they are needing the nutrients that are in the formula and then from 1-2 yrs they need the extra fat that is in whole milk for proper brain development.

Consider how varied your child's diet is. It is very reasonable to continue giving formula past a year if your toddler isn't yet eating a huge variety of foods.

When my son was about 11 months I started switching him over from formula to whole milk. I did it cold turkey. Just one day he only got milk because when I tried to gradually do it I found it just made it worse.
