Your son maynot want to go to a support group but I was kinda thinking more of you & his dad. You'd be amazed how many parents are out there who have been where you are or will be in the future. Together you will find you can win any challenge.
I loved our local support group & spent a few years on the commity as my daughter was older than most of the other parents kids.

Glad all is well at the minute. Hope you all have a great christmas & feel free to message me anytime :) xx

Thank you for this, we've been at our wits' end with some of the meltdowns recently - there has been a more intense phase which has been wearing us out even tho we know that some structure is helpful (the meltdowns have left us less able to provide it) we are making efforts to explain more about what is going on each day as we've heard that can be very reassuring and i am also looking back on my own teenage years as a bit of a reference (i have undiagnosed asperger's which our son's therapist spotted almost straight away) i'm beginning to see why my mum seemed at a loss where helping me to be happy was concerned - i didn't react like other people and demanded a lot of attention. we are having a mini christmas party for our kids today (we have a girl of 13 as well as a boy of 16) both are on the spectrum - we have 5 of their friends over so the house is very happy today - we are hoping we can think of other things to put into the coming days esp as christmas can be a very emotional time for people (including nature walks always helps us) our son is a bit dubious about support groups but if we found one locally that caters for adults, then maybe i could go with him sometimes - to give a bit of support. :) thanks for the suggestion and encouragement xxxx

hi hun. My oldest 21 now Is Aspergers co-morbid severe ADHD. SHe too had huge meltdowns. Running round doind chicken impressions. trying to jump outta car whilst moving. Stripping naked in drs etc...
Best support I got was from local parent support group. Try & find 1 local 2 you as these are the people who know whats available to you & how to get it. They can also offer morral support for you.

good luck xxx
