Help! I have a 13 year old girl!

Hello All,
I am a single mom of a 13 year old girl named Sarah. She was just diagnosed with Inattentive type ADHD, and I am just about at wits end with her.
Granted I know that her attitude is due to age.. but it's sometimes more than I can handle. Shes horribly moody, and sometimes just plain rude. She refuses to do any housework, and now her schoolwork is failing (hopefully once she goes on her adhd meds it will improve). She constantly complains that she feels sick (headaches, stomachaches, dizziness, etc) and does not want to go to school. I miss the sweet girl that once loved going to school, and spending time with family. Who is this child that lives with me now?

She's still the same sweet child that loved going to school, and loved her family! Later on, this rude attitude of hers will end. She's going through puberty, and pains in her body is normal for a girl who is growing up. Her hormones are RAGING, and she can't help it. Talk to her alone, when nobody else is around and when she's not busy reading, watching movies, etc. Ask her what's going on at school, and if the other teens at her school are nice to her. Lots of kids are getting bullied at school and trying to hide it from their parents because they think they're hopeless and alone.
Sarah might be a girl who is rude and stubborn, but she's still the same sweet little girl. I have a girl named Rebecca and she's 12, one year younger than yours. She can be a little moody sometimes, and I've noticed she can speak rudely too. You need to talk to her alone .....
