Help, I'm trying to dry up?

My daughter isn't nursing. I've decided to dry myself up. I've wore the tight bra plus ace bandages wrapped around me (because I'm an F) for 72 hours according to the dr's. I am not engorged anymore. But I am still letting down and leaking. Maybe only a 50 cent piece size on breast pads from all day. Will I eventually just dry up? Or do I need to put the tight bra and ace bandages back on?

Oh, and I stopped nursing eight months ago and I still hold milk. I don't let down but, when my son gets sick, I do. And unfortunately my husband has been on the unexpected receiving end of it a few times. I have been told it takes almost a year to be rid of the milk and the ducts to shrink.

Thanks, I didn't try the cabbage because I read if ur allergic to sulfa drugs not to. And I am allergic it sulfa drugs. I did do benadryl hoping to dry up. My Dr had said not to take it too much while I was pregnant because it could dry nip amniotic fluid. So I thought maybe that would work. I may just give it time. I'm not engorged anymore and don't hurt.

You will. I think it takes longer for those with larger breasts. Just keep putting the pads on.

the cabbage tip.... just made me smell like salad, rather annoying when you're hungry. I was told if you froze the cabbage it may work better. I had milk for nearly 4 months with my first and I NEVER nursed. GOOD LUCK!

i used cabbage in my bra- was done in a couple days. my dr also recommended taking a decongestant for a couple of days. she said if it dries up the sinuses it'll dry up the milk which is why it's not recommeneded to nursing mothers

It took me two weeks of wearing the tight bra, a tank top with a built in bra over it and then my shirt, before I dried up. It depends on your body.

I just read a post from you saying you HAD dried up....

If you aren't going to keep nursing, you WILL dry up eventually w/out doing anything special. As long as you aren't engorged or in pain.... I'd just let it be.

I know it may sound weird but i put a piece of cabbage leaf in my bra i would place the cabbage leafs on my nipples and a few days later i was all dried up !
