My daughter just turned 8 and she seems like she is going through something. She argues everything I say, she is emotional all the time, she is mean to her little brother. Yes I know this is all normal child behavior, but not for her. She has always been so gentile with her brother and she has always been such a good girl. I've heard the transition into third grade is a rough one plus her school, third grade is the first year in the middle school. So, is it just transitioning that has her acting different or should I be concerned that it is more than that. I don't know any of the kids in her class this year, whereas the first three years of school she was grouped with all the same kids. So I don't know if she is being bullied at school or if she just feels like I am too strict with her because a lot of the other parents here let their kids call all the shots and let them do whatever they want to. I don't want my daughter to hate me but I don't think I am being too strict or anything. Any suggestions to alleviate this transition? Or should I just wait it out a bit to see if she adjusts and returns to her normal happy self?
