I have a two year old who has learned a bad word and I'm not sure how to get him to stop... He says it all the time now and the problem is I have an older son that is 9 years old but mentally ill and he swears all the time ... How to I stop my two younger ones from picking it up ... Please help

I'd be working on the 9 year old. What mental illness does he have that you can't correct his use of swear words?

As always, even with ADHD, etc (actually, especially with the autism spectrum) CONSISTENCY is key.

Thanks for your help, we are trying to stop the 9? Year old but I have not succeeded, he learned a lot of his bad works in the hospital for other kids in the unit.. But I hope to stop them both 😢

He has ADHD and has pycosis, and autsaum spectrum, he's been in and out of hospitals he picked up a lot in the child unit 😢but he is functioning at a two year old level so he doesn't understand what he does affects others ... I just hope to stop the bad words for the both of them ... Thanks for your help

You need to find a way to stop the 9 year old.. Perhaps his doctors and therapists have 'tricks' that you can use to get through to him to use different words... Though the 9 year old had to have picked them up from somewhere as well as a child doesn't just start swearing if they've never heard those words in the first place.

You can not reasonably expect a 2 year old to stop using words that he hears the others in his life using all the time.
