Hi everyone!

I am the proud mom of a beautiful 26 month old boy! However over a short period of time it's as though he has become extremely aggressive! Over the Christmas period my brother was here and he has a 6 year old girl and an almost 3 year old boy. That is when my son's aggression really peaked, he would constantly pull my nephews hair and say 'mine mine mine' to absolutely everything! I tried remediating and doing what they do at daycare, eg 'gentle hands' but to no avail. Since then, his aggression seems to have turned to me. He hits, bites and pinches me fairly regularly and doesn't want me around. He just wants his daddy 24/7 and will constantly tell me to 'go away'. When we picked him up from daycare today, they said he had been irritable ALL day - which is a first for him. He also recently has 'tonsillitis' which he's had a lot and just came off of a course of antibiotics. His daycare commented that he might be sick or teething....I am going to take him to the doctor ASAP but would love to get some opinions about whether this is possibly just a phase or perhaps if something more serious is going on...thank you ladies. Sorry to rant - I'm feeling really stressed and down :(

At two a little guy can't express the big feelings he may be having. Having the older kids on his "turf" was probably frustrating and he just didn't know how to handle himself, so he hit and bit. If he is super crabby he may be overtired, teething or still sick. A trip to the doctor sounds like a good plan.
When he hurt you, take his hand and look him in the eye and say "No Hitting" and then move away from him. If you can't move away, don't make eye contact. You don't want to give those behaviors your attention. it is typically for a boy to start wanting to be with the same gender parent. It is just modeling, not that he loves you less.
