I have started waking her up early at 8 am and wont let her take a nap at all and still she will just stay up until 2am not matter what. Shes not crying or fussing until then she just wants to stay up and play and i cant get her to go to sleep earlier than for nothing any suggestions?

Finally, Dove, someone who agrees with me about overtired kids not sleeping well! At 2.5 my kids did start to drop a daily nap, but most toddlers nap until 3. If she wakes at 8, try to get her down for a nap right after lunch, and up by 2-2;30. Then, like Dove suggested, stick to a bedtime routine. Dinner, quiet play, light snack, bath, books and snuggles and off to sleep. If you see her yawning or rubbing her eyes, that is your cue to get her in bed. Once you pass the point of tired to overtired, you will have an awake child for hours sometimes.

An overtired child sleeps worse than a well rested one. 6 hours of sleep in 24 hours is NOT healthy. If she's not sleeping at night and she will rest during the day... let her nap for an hour or two in the early afternoon... especially if you start waking her up at 7 instead of 8.

What were you doing for her bedtime routine prior to two months ago? How/why did it change? Keep her w/ a consistent bedtime (8pm or earlier) and just keep walking her back to bed over and over and over again if she gets out to play. Make sure she has a couple of stuffed animals or other soft toys in bed and let her know that she doesn't have to sleep right away, but she MUST stay in bed and she MUST stay quiet.
