Hi I would like to know what can I do to help my kids sleep on time. I tried searching the Internet to enforce sleeping patterns but it doesn't work they just become more active when it's bed time. Please help.

I agree with Raye's advice. However, I want to point out that there is absolutely NO excuse for the 10 year old misbehaving at bed time and it would be reasonable to have consequences around that. Do they have to share a room? If not, then your 10 year old is capable of understanding bed time is bed time. I would also suggest that a 4 year old and 10 year old are likely to need different amounts of sleep, so it would be reasonable that they don't have quite the same bedtimes.

Cut out any sweets, pop, etc. at least 6 hours before bedtime. Feed them a balanced dinner. Start winding down about an hour before their bedtime... no electronics that have a backlit screen, maybe read them a story before bed to get them to start being still and calming down. Make sure distractions and other noise in the house is at a minimum. Make sure they've had a drink of water and gone to the bathroom to reduce them needing to get up. Then enforce their bedtimes and "lights out". If they can't sleep, they still need to be quietly in their rooms with lights out. No exceptions until they get into a good routine.

Also, make sure their bedtime allows them to get enough sleep. It sounds backward, but sometimes kids who don't sleep enough can be restless at night and get even less sleep. Your 10 y/o should be getting about 9-11 hours of sleep, and the 4 y/o should be getting 11-13 hours of sleep every night.

My son is 10 and my daughter is 4. I event read on the Internet that organic honey helps calm them before bedtime but that doesn't work instead it makes the more active.
