I truly dont believe in the cry it out method but need some tips on helping my child go to bed without mama. he was doing very good just the last month has been a struggle. he is fine for nap time but for some reason at night he refuses. I put him in he wakes up the second i put him down. He is 7 1/2 mths old. He doesnt seem to have separation anxiety when meeting new ppl but this seems to be what he is doing when it comes to the crib.

Cry out method is the only thing that worked for me. It only took about 3 nights at maybe 30-40 minutes each and she never really cried again when I put her down after that. This was about 7-8 months old. It just depends on what you are willing to deal with and your comfort level. Babies will survive crying, but I understand how hard it is to let them do it for awhile. Sometimes I pick up the baby and hold her for a minute then put her back, just to let her know I still care about her but to teach her that I'm not going to rock her and cuddle her all the time before bed and they need to put themselves to sleep. But again, it's up to you.
