My son is having difficulty in school. We just lost his Dad. I know that is part of it. His Dad was the one who worked with him while I worked. I try to help him with his homework but he is resistant so I dont push. I am at a loss as how to help him learn his numbers and letters. He is in kindergarden and behind everybody. I feel like I am a bad mom because I dont know how to help him. He is the most important person in my life. We dont have any family around to help and I dont know alot of people around here as we have only been here a couple of years. The teacher says he behaves very well in class but doesnt participate in class. He gets extra help but it isnt enough what should I do? How can I help him.

I took him to one counselor and she talked to him a little but she said he should be fine. I dont know. His teacher says he talks a little bit about it at first but doesnt know. He does tell me he misses his daddy. I cuddle with him and we talk about his daddy and what we us to do with daddy.

Have you sought any wellbeing support (i.e. therapy, grief counselling) for him for the loss of his dad?
