My daughter absolutely would not sleep on her back. She was a tummy sleeper from the day she was born. My mother-in-law, a nurse, had a fit when she found out, but there was nothing we could do.

I agree with the moms saying to keep bedding to a minimum and make sure you have a monitor in the room. Of course, I think this goes for every baby;)

My 2nd and 3rd babies were tummy sleepers. I would only get 30 mins out of #2 if he was on his back but would get 4 hours on his tummy. Both of them had very good head control early on as well.

Just make sure you don't have anything in the cot/crib with them and have a good baby monitor.

I had a side sleeper pillow for my youngest ..it just held her on her side. but as soon as they are moving well and have good head control there isnt much stopping them...they are all differant. keep bedding down to a minimum...andtry not to worry too much. Good luck and God bless!

If he is at the stage where he is getting to that position himself than it shouldn't be a problem. Either way, there is not much you can do once they find out they can move onto their tummies on their own.
