help my son with aspergers insists there is a ghost

That could be a totally different issue! Yes, it is very normal for people with ASD to hear sounds that others cannot. He could be hearing plumbing banging, temperature change in boards as they pop and move about from a season change, house settling, or even a mouse or insect. He could also be hearing something from a neighbors house or a nearby road. It may be hard since he's already decided it's a ghost, but earplugs/headphones often do help with this particular problem! You may want to explain (and/or search sounds on YouTube) the different noises a house can make, and how it's entirely normal, not scary.
