HELP! My teen sister is having a baby :O

My little, teen sister, Tessa, (18yo) is having her first baby. I had my first at 27! I want to help Tessa and support her, but I just feel I can't really, as 18 IS TOO young to have your own child.... Please help! What should I do?

I have to agree with Firebird on this one. She could have been still in high school and then it would have been a larger problem. At least she is out of school or adult age at the least, and she can make her choices as she needs to. All you can do is support her and be there for her. You can not tell her what to do with baby on keeping it, adopting it out, or heaven forbid, abortion. What makes you an expert on what age is appropriate for having kids? I know a few at age 27 that are not actually mature enough to be a parent. As Firebird said, Perspective.

At least she isn't 14. Perspective. At 18 she can join the army and die for her country, but she can't have a baby? Perspective.
