Ok so my son got his Doc band on Friday June 3rd. Things seem to be going pretty well other then he has gone from sleeping 12+ hours at night to waking up like once an hour...Anyone else have this problem and if so what did you do or how long did it take for your babies to get used to the band enough to sleep again? He was a swing sleeper until he got the band but now he will not sleep anywhere, I have tried both sings, the bouncer and his crib. I am at my breaking point. My fiance and I work nights and have a 15 month old and also my sons twin so we are up all day and really depend on them sleeping from 8 pm so we can catch a few hours before work, which like I said until we got the band was not an issue.. I seriously contemplate taking his band off at night but I know that is not the answer or beneficial to him.. All suggestions welcomed and appreciated, and thank you in advance...

Thanks Ladies.
Although the advice is great and I appreciate it, none of it really seems to touch on the issue I am dealing with.. My son sleeps just fine and sleeps 12+ hours everynight, until he got his Doc Band on.. Danielle he has his Doc band on so I cannot put a towel on the affected side as there is none with the helmet on. Kim im sorry your child has never slept longer then a couple hours at a time that must truly suck... Melissa thankfully my fiance makes sure I get enough sleep we are very understanding of each others sleep needs :) I have spoken to the Dr and they have adjusted his band a little so we are hoping to see a change..

First, ask someone to take a shift from you so you can get a break and rest thoroughly. Take unisom. Sleep helps you be more creative in finding a solution. Then call the doctor and ask for advice.

Hey Stacy.I have an 11 month old boy and he has not slept through the night since he was born. He goes up to bed @ about 7pm and wakes around 8.30pm then again around 10.30pm. That is when we go to bed and he comes downstairs in the living room in his travelcot he seems to settle better in a dark quiet room by himself and my thoughts are that it is fen shui, I do not do all that stuff but I turned his cot a different way and he seemed to settle better. I would suggest doing the usual nighttime routine i.e: bath, change, clean pj's, feed (warm milk might help to settle him) and snuggled in bed. Try moving his bed or cot to a different position and just reassure him best you can that mummy is still there and not going anywhere. Hope my advice has helped you and you get it sorted soon enough just have patience hun. Take Care

Have you tried just rocking your baby to sleep and once asleep putting a rolled towel on the side that's not affected so he/she will sleep on that side plus will still feel like your holding him/her. I'm sorry I can't give you anything more. My son would wake up every 30 min till he was a yr old plus I had my new born nephew to take care of so I definitely know what it's like. Good luck!
