ALmost 6 weeks pregnant with second child . Have had menstrual like cramps and some dull lower back pains, accompanied by some discharge, started out a light oranggish brown and a few days later turned darker brownish. yesterday and today theyre was a very very small amount or reddish pink spotting when i wipe (just a few dots and just once a day) is this normal? been going on for almost a week and i dont go to see my ob again for three more days, she has been out of town, all her receptionist could tell me was to abstain from sex , which i have all week since it first happened . Had nothing like this with my first and i am scared to death i am going to miscarry.

Thanks Lori , They're hasn't been any fresh blood other then a few extremelly small spots , my first pregnancy was over 7 years ago and so far this pregnancy has been totally different. Its really like light -medium menstrual cramps, My pregnancy symptoms started around 2 weeks , took three home tests that all said positive , scheduled my ob apt and when they done the sonogram i was only 4 weeks. i didnt even know a home test could pick up so early and all the tests were took in the evening so my levels must have been really good. Im scheduled to go back in 2 days to have a 6 week done to check the heartbeat and everything so im hoping and praying everything will be good. The pregnancy itself was a shock and not planned but I still already feel so attached to it :/ ...

Hello My name is Lori, Im not a Dr. but we take same classes and Im a lactactation consultant and worked on O.B. a ton with three kids of my own. I had a similar experience..after a miscarriage...but had two kids prior with the cramping that's usually your urterus being stretched ! poor thing but it's a good thing...and the spotting after the horrible experience I was sure I was done but it was just a little left over material and had a happy heathy baby to show for it...however I freaked and demanded an immediate ultra sound...I took weekend off and all was well. this is not medical advice again exactly i do have qualifications in the field but Im not a Dr. but I think your feelings are totally normal and scary and until you see that ultra sound you wont feel exactly safe but I hope this post helps comfort you! They forget to mention all this fun stuff in the books..lol Im new to this group so not sure if you can reply but as a CLC and almost advanced practice RN and mom of three and someone who has had a similiar scare...I hope this helps!
