Help Re Introducing BF To Eight Month Old Baby Girl

Dear Momma's, I had to exclusively pump after my daughter turned 2mo. due to repetitive mastitis and indented nipples. She eight months old now and throws a champion fit when I try to bf. Even tried with a supplementer. I'm concerned that my milk may not keep up and I'm tired of hauling the pump everywhere...I just want to feed her and snuggle her close! Talked to a lactation consultant...her suggestions matched mine which have met with no success. It breaks my heart to see her push away from me horrified. Any suggestions? HELP! Maybe I should just throw in the towel.....

From the sounds of it, you probably need to go ahead and switch to formula. I know you really wanted to breast feed, but in all honesty, it's not always the best thing for every person and every situation. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with formula. Just congratulate yourself on managing to breastfeed for this long! Some mothers don't even get that chance even though they really want to.

And please don't think about it as throwing in the towel. You have done everything that you can think of. You have sought help. As I said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with formula feeding.
