Help to get a toddler to sleep by herself

[deleted account] ( 3 moms have responded )

Any tips on how to get a 4 year old who is afraid to sleep by herself to be comfortable sleeping on her own all night? Night light, already have, flash light, Check. Not cold turkey strategies but a more gentler approach.
Also, what are your thoughts on the pros and cons of sleeping with her. Is it that important to push the issue or wait it out?
Thanks

My son is 5 and he's old enough to understand he needs to sleep in his own bed but he doesn't sleep well by himself so we have an every other night deal. Even still most nights that he does sleep in his bed he gets into ours but I don't know it till I wake up in the morning. I think parents should do what works for them it works for me and my husband but I know many people who it wouldn't work for!

Personally im not for co-sleeping...i just think that is a nice time for just you and hubby to be alone even if your just sleeping..as a Child myself i was terrified to sleep alone. but found comfort in always having a hall light on and my door wide open. it took a bit longer to fall asleep.but thats what worked for me.

I co-slept with both of my kids. I see nothing wrong with it. Of course I'm into attachment parenting so that's why.
If she is that afraid sleep with her for a bit.
