I have 2 kids boy...14 and girl...17. Both my kids are really very good kids, but my daughter started babysitting and earning $$ and now thinks she can be independant so is filing for emansipation. Because I told them they can either live with me or their dad they chose their dad cuz they are mad at me for trying to be a mother. Turns out they were not staying with their dad and now he has given them permission to live with his sister. My question is...Is there anything I can do in this situation? Is it enough that he has given permission for that? I really want them to be back with me, but I don't know what rights I have. They are not doing anything illegal.

Thank you, but my ex also is their legal guardian, I need to know when I go to where my kids are( which is at their aunts, ex's sis) and tell them they need to come home with me and of course they won't want to and their aunt is going to agree with them, what can I say or do to remedy that?

If you are their legal guardian then you can take them back. They are still children and until they are 18 they should be abiding by your rules. Just because they get upset with your rules doesn't mean that they can just run off to Dad's.

Their Father is also in the wrong bu passing them off to his sister. All this has just taught the kids that when things get tough you just run away.
