I am not sure if any other moms have experienced what I am going through but I am desperate for any advise that i can get. I have an 11 yr old son that has been very out of control and has been doing things that he should know are wrong. when he does these things and i try and talk to him about them he has n feelings or remorse for what he has done and continues to do them. for example i keep catching him smoking in his room and he started his bed on fire thank goodness he got the fire put out before it got out of control. he has been late for school in the morning because he has went with some other kids and has been under the influence of drugs while at school. please i am asking for any advise that i can get he does suffer from mental health problems and other illness also.

He does get punished he not allowed to hang out with his friends after school he got his xbox and laptop taken away. He does already have lots of experts involved and he is on medicine for his mental health.

He needs outside help immediately. Please do not hesitate to talk to the doctors monitoring his care for the best way to go about this situation.

I say don't delay in bringing in an expert! That seems extremely early for such behavior. I know that health insurance covers mental health care as well. I have just a small deductible for my son to see a councilor trained in the field.

I don't understand how a child of just 10 can not show any concern for being punished for his misbehavior especially in his home. I wonder if he has any consequences to his bad behaviors. What kind of consequence did he receive for setting his bed on fire? If you only tell him how upset you are and talk to him, he isn't getting the controls put into place that shows him he is loved. Children need and crave boundaries. It makes them feel safe.
