Hi fellow moms,

My daughter birthday is approaching. She wants a Frozen themed party. I am trying to get her a cake. Do i find a picture of a cake I like online and ask a bakery to make the exact same one or do I pick on out of the baker's profortlio (if they have made on before) or ask them to design one specifically for me? Any advice? What do you normally do?

Depends on the Bakery.
If you go to a large chain bakery or grocery store bakery, you will probably be limited to what they have in their portfolio. This means your cake will not be as unique, but it will be much less expensive.
If you go to a specialty bakery, you can pick something from their portfolio, or bring in images of cakes that you like and ask them if they can make that particular cake. Some cake designs are copyrighted and cannot be recreated by other bakers, most are not. The baker will know what is and isn't allowed, and if they cannot make the exact cake, they will work with you to design one you love. This will cost a little more, but you will have a really spectacular cake, and personally, I think specialty bakeries make better tasting cakes because that is all they do--so they're really good at it :)

Look on Pinteres for Frozen Cakes--there are some really beautiful ones.

You can bring a picture and ask or look at the portfolio. Or if you want to make one yourself you could look on youtube how to make it. You will have to tell the bakery for how many people the cake is,and what flavor you would like. They could even make an edible photo print. Just dont be shocked if the cake costs alot. We had one last year from a bakery and it costed alot.
