My baby is 2 1/2 weeks old, and during the day she is so good, but starting around 6-8pm she starts fussing. She will nurse and nurse and nurse....and refuses to go to sleep even though she's exhausted. She usually has gas pain as well, and gripe water helps some, but usually the only thing that calms her is to walk and rock her in my arms. When I get her to sleep and put her down she wakes up crying, and the whole process repeats itself.....for hours. I am a first time mom, and desperate for some kind of advice of how to help this situation. She mostly breastfeeds, but my husband takes her for the 5am feeding (to give me a break so I can sleep), and he will give her formula. I have kept a food diary to see if it's something I am eating during the day, but I can see no link between what I eat or the formula....as far as I can tell neither one of these are the culprit. Please help! I think her days and nights might be mixed up, but have no idea how to fix that.
