Hemangioma on Nose

Hello, My daughter has hemangioma on her nose. She is a year old and has had it since she was 4 months old. It does not interrupt her breathing or hurt her in any way. My husband and I opted out of trying medication and wanted to wait to see if it subsides on its own. However, the hemangioma has not went away. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good plastic surgents in the Long island area or if anyone has had a similar situation and waited and it went away on its own.

My daughter actually developed one of these behind her ear at about 3 months. I panicked because I had no idea what it was, how it got there or what to do about. After talking to the pediatrician she reassured me that it was nothing to be worried about. They checked it at her 4 month check up and it looked normal and should go away by the time she is 5 years old. It took until she was about 2 to really notice any change in its appearance. She is now 2 1/2 and although it is still there it is not nearly as large or red looking. So it is going away.
I am not from the Long Island area so I can not help with a plastic surgeon. I am by no means telling you to wait and see if it goes away. I just wanted to let you know about our situation and that it is going away but it is a slow process. You have to do what you think it best for your daughter.
