How many herpes infected moms have delivered a baby vaginally? Should I opt for a c-section instead?

A doctor is still going to be more informed than other ladies on the internet.

im not pregnant yet, but plan on it soon. I have had herpes for 2 years now. Ive researched the risks but would like to hear from real life experiences from mothers who have herpes and gave birth. Im interested in the outcomes of the choices they have made. Reading about the risks and warnings are different from hearing from the actual mothers who has personally gone through it. I am scared to death about possibly passing it on to my baby.

This really is a question for your doctor. Especially if you are having out breaks during your pregnancy, they may opt for a c section. Every person is different, and they may already have a set plan in your office for dealing with your circumstance. Ask them. One way or another, preventing passing it to your child is the key. So if they say c section is the way, I would not hesitate.
