Hey gals, so my son is 4 months old. This is my first time as a mommy and my son still is yet to sleep through the night. He gets about 7 ounces of formula and i try to feed him baby food as much as he'll take it. Ive tried the rice cereal in the bottle and nothing seems to work. Hes been teething for a month now but now sign of a tooth. And hes completely healthy. Any help as to why hes not or what i can do to try and get him to sleep through the night? Im just plain ol exhausted

He's 100% normal. 'Sleeping through the night' at this age would be a 5-6 hour stretch... some kids can, some kids aren't ready yet. At 4 months old all he really needs is the formula. Some babies do sleep better with a little 'real' food....others sleep worse because the food upsets their bellies if they aren't ready for it.

My oldest at this age was waking once in a 12 hour stretch.... my youngest was waking 1-5 times in a 10-11 hour stretch until he was 2 years old!

The best thing (I found) to do is change YOUR sleeping habits to make up for what you are missing. They are only so little once and I guarantee this won't last forever.

Do you wrap him? This is usually my answer to most sleeping questions when babies aren't wrapped, they tend to startle themselves awake, they also like the comfort of being wrapped. If he's getting enough to eat during the daytime, wrapping him may be enough to help him sleep through.
