Hi im a grandma not a mom, but my beautiful grandaughter Brooke was born with con, cmv, shes now 14 months only weighs 16lb but after reading some articles she has been quite lucky up till now.
Brookes still not sitting up but does try, she has no interest in crawling but will scoot all over in her baby walker and loves to stand, assisited of course.
She babbles like shes talking to ten people all at once :) but she will not eat lumpy foods she just chokes, but the health visitors say we have to persist which is very distressing.
Brooke was born a month early and spent 12 wks in intensive scbu she had a six week dose of ganciclovir and has an enlarges spleen she also had very high blood preaure due to a kidney problem which has now corrected its self, she had a few bleeds behind her eyes but her eye sight up till now is fine also her hearing is ok for the time being she also has a small amount of calcification on her brain but we were told its noting to much, we love her so much, she is out little princess, but it is so hard not to compare her to my great nephew who at 9 mth is walking and doing everything you would expect, i really need any advice anyone can give me as i find it really difficult to get any info any where
thanks in advance for any replies Sharron
