Hi guys I'm 18 years old and a mother of one. My son is now four months old and I couldn't be more prouder of him but his dad is very controlling and has hardly been around for our son yet he tells me how to parent him and what I should and shouldn't do with him I kinda feel like he doesn't have the right to tell me how to parent my son because he is not a proper father to him and doesn't understand his routine or anything am I right in believing that he shouldn't tell me how to parent because he's never there himself?

If he is not there to be a part of things, he is not going to know how to parent the baby. He does deserve the chance to have a relationship with that child. What you need to do is file for custody, child support, and visitation so this can happen without problems. Those court orders will guarentee that the child gets what he deserves from both parents.

Of course you're right. Don't deny him the chance of course if he ever comes around but you know your son abd what's best for him. It's hard trying to raise a baby when you are young. I was 18 when I had my first baby as well. But even though you're young you still have motherly instinct and his father will never understand it.... maybe until he turns 5....
